Training Your Dog
A rewarding part of dog ownership is successfully training your dog. Training is an excellent way to bond with your
dog and will help you build a good relationship with them. Whether young or old - all dogs can benefit from
learning some basic commands. One thing to understand is that dogs that are from a shelter environment may not
have had any training or have forgotten some of their training from their previous home. But dogs are smart and
receptive to positive reinforcement. Some learn better using treats, some with toys and other types of rewards.
The key is to find the best training method for your dog and being patient and consistent.
Behavior issues that pop up suddenly could be an indication of discomfort or pain so please contact your vet for a
wellness check. Animals can’t tell us what is wrong so they show us in ways that make us think they are being
naughty, when in fact it’s a medical issue.
If you have any questions about your dog, please feel free to
contact us
and we will do our best to give you some
tips and advice to help you with your furry friend.
